Santander hits 8%, Revolut edges best easy with 5% – plus every top rate for July 2026.

The base rate is holding at 3.75% following the Bank of England's June meeting, and the next decision is 7 August. Inflation data for June lands on 16 July — that number will set the tone going into August.

For now, rates are holding up well and there's a new headline regular saver rate worth acting on. There's also a notable piece of news this month: Halifax is being rebranded to Lloyds. Existing customers will be migrated to the Lloyds app, though account numbers and sort codes stay the same.

Switch Offers

Strong bonuses available this month, with a couple of deadlines worth flagging.

Barclays Premier — £600 — highest bonus on the market. Hard to qualify for, but worth knowing.

HSBC Standard — £220 — best accessible bonus this month. No deadline listed, but worth acting on sooner rather than later.

NatWest — up to £250 — Premier gets £250, Select and Reward both at £200. Medium difficulty across the board.

First Direct — £200 — expires 15 July. Clean and accessible, no income requirement. Not available to former HSBC customers from 2018. Bonus drops to £175 after the deadline.

Santander Edge — £180 — worth it if you're opening the Edge account for the regular saver rate anyway.

Bank of Scotland — £175 — easiest and fastest to qualify. Deadline 6 August.

Nationwide — £175 — Flex account, no deadline.

Best for most people: HSBC standard at £220. If you need something fast, Bank of Scotland at £175 is the quickest to complete. First Direct expires 15 July — don't sit on it.

Easy Access Savings

Revolut — 5.00% — top headline rate. Bonus rate runs until December 4th but you must open the account by August 4th to access it. £25,000 maximum.

Tembo HomeSaver — 4.55% — 12-month bonus included. Maximum £20,000 — the main limitation. Up to 5.55% if you take a mortgage through Tembo, which makes it particularly interesting for first-time buyers. Affiliate link in the description.

Chase — 4.50% — new customers only, 12-month bonus. Current account required first.

Cahoot — 4.32% — rate recently increased from 4.17%, the highest it's been since March 2026 and trending upwards. No withdrawal restrictions, up to £500,000. Santander-owned, so a solid name behind it.

Hanley Economic BS — 4.27% — no bonus, genuine rate. Maximum two withdrawals per year — third withdrawal triggers a 60-day interest charge.

Hampshire Trust Bank — 4.18% — no restrictions, up to £250,000.

Sidekick — 4.17% — 0.6% bonus applies up to £60,000. Above that, rate drops to 3.57%.

Cash ISAs

£20,000 allowance for 2026/27. Worth using in full — the allowance drops to £12,000 for under-65s from April 2027, so this is the last year at £20k.

Flexible vs non-flexible: a flexible ISA lets you withdraw and replace money within the same tax year without losing your allowance. Non-flexible doesn't. Matters if you use your ISA as a buffer you occasionally dip into.

Easy Access Cash ISAs

Plum — 4.62% — top easy access rate. Flexible ISA. Drops to 2.54% after 12 months — the most dramatic bonus cliff in this category. Transfer-in rate is 4.00%. Set a calendar reminder at 11 months.

Atom Bank — 4.25% — no notable catches. No transfers in currently.

Tembo — 4.05% — variable rate. No transfers in accepted. Drops to 2.80% after 12 months.

XTB — 4.00% — flexible ISA, no notable catches.

MoneyBox — 4.00% — down from 4.75% last month.

Trading 212 — 3.60% — new users only, down from 4.76% last month. Flexible ISA. Make sure you open the Cash ISA specifically — easy to accidentally open the Stocks & Shares ISA on their app.

Fixed Cash ISAs

Tembo 1 Year — 4.60% — top fixed rate. £500 minimum. Non-flexible.

Oak North 1 Year — 4.56% — strong rate, £1 minimum. Account stays open if you need to withdraw early.

Oak North 2 Year — 4.55% — same conditions as the one-year.

Tandem Bank 2 Year — 4.45% — £1 minimum.

Nationwide 1 Year — 4.41% — flexible ISA. Up to 4.60% with a longer commitment.

Hargreaves Lansdown — 4.41% (1 year variable) / 4.40% (5 year fixed) — £500 minimum on the one-year, £1,000 on the five-year.

Our pick: Oak North. High rate, £1 minimum, and they won't close your account if you need to exit early.

Fixed Rate Bonds

Marcus 1 Year — 4.90% — top one-year rate. £1 minimum, up to £250,000. Interest paid at maturity.

Afin Bank 5 Year — 4.90% — top five-year rate. £1,000 minimum, £200,000 maximum. Interest paid monthly or at maturity.

Chetwood Bank 5 Year — 4.81% — interest paid annually. No apparent maximum balance.

MBNA 1 Year — 4.75% — £1,000 minimum. Managed by phone only.

Chetwood Bank 6 Month — 4.30% — top pick for a short commitment. Interest paid at maturity.

Interest paid at maturity all lands in one tax year and could push you over your Personal Savings Allowance. Monthly or annually paid-away interest spreads the liability.

The gap between one-year and five-year rates is unusually tight right now — the market isn't expecting rates to move much. Given the August MPC meeting, shorter terms still make more sense unless you have a specific goal.

Notice Accounts

Worth considering if you know you'll need money but not exactly when. Honest take: the premium over easy access is thin and you're giving up flexibility for very little.

Streambank 90 Day — 4.35% — £1,000 minimum, £120,000 maximum.

Stafford BS 180 Day — 4.26% — top rate. £5,000 minimum. Branch or post only — no online access.

Hampshire Trust 95 Day — 4.22% — £1 minimum. Best option for low balances.

Castle Trust Bank 120 Day — 4.20% — £1,000 minimum. Online and app.

Oxbury Bank 90 Day — 4.18% — monthly interest, app only, no joint accounts.

Oxbury Bank 35 Day — 4.16% — shortest notice period at a competitive rate.

Regular Savers

The most misunderstood category in savings. You drip-feed money in monthly, so your average balance across the year is roughly half your total deposits. The headline rate applies to that average — not your full pot.

First Direct at 7% on £300 per month means £3,600 deposited across the year, earning around £136 in interest. Not £252.

Santander Edge Saver — 6.00% — looks like a regular saver but it's a maximum balance account. £4,000 total cap, not a monthly limit. Includes a 2.5% variable bonus that drops after 12 months. Requires the Edge current account at £3/month.

Santander Regular Saver — 8.00% — new top rate this month. £200 per month cap. 5% bonus for 12 months. Must hold a Santander current account. Maximum interest if maxed out: around £104 on £2,400 deposited.

First Direct — 7.00% fixed — £300 per month cap, no withdrawals, must pay in every month. Requires their current account. Around £136 interest if maxed.

Co-operative Bank — 7.00% variable — £250 per month cap. Co-operative account required. Around £114 interest if maxed.

Nationwide — 6.50% variable — £200 per month cap. Flex account required. Around £85 interest if maxed.

Lloyds Club Lloyds — 6.25% fixed — £400 per month cap, withdrawals allowed. Fee waived with £2,000 per month pay-in. Around £162 interest if maxed.

Monmouthshire BS — 6.00% variable — best open-to-all option. No existing account needed. £500 per month cap, app or branch. Around £195 interest if maxed — highest total return in this group.

Santander's 8% is the headline but the £200 cap limits the real return. If you want the highest total interest and don't want to open a new current account, Monmouthshire BS at £500 per month still wins.

What to watch in July

Inflation data for June lands on 16 July. The Bank of England meets on 7 August. A hold is the most likely outcome, but a hot inflation print on the 16th gives the hawkish members of the MPC more ammunition. Worth keeping an eye on before making any long-term fixes.
