Zopa’s new Biscuit current account unlocks a market-leading 4.75% AER easy-access saver when you pay in £500/month. Here’s how it works, who it suits, and the fine print.

If you've been waiting for something genuinely fresh in easy-access savings, Zopa just served it. Their new Biscuit current account now unlocks 4.75% AER (4.64% gross) on an easy-access Access pot, and it's the first offer in a while that made us stop, read the small print, and smile.

Here's the flavour: the 4.75% headline is a combo of a 3.25% AER variable base plus a fixed 1.50% bonus for 12 months when you pay in £500+ each month. It stays instant-access, so you can move money in and out when you need to. In a market where most providers are drifting down or hiding the best rates behind notice periods, this feels…refreshing.

Biscuit also sweetens the everyday stuff. You get the following:

  • 2% AER on your current-account balance (fixed for 12 months, variable after)

  • 7.10% AER Regular Saver for up to £300/month

  • 2% cashback on Direct Debits (up to £1,500 a year of bill payments)

It's all wrapped in Zopa's app with the usual modern touches, Apple/Google Pay, card freeze, and clean UX, plus FSCS protection up to £85,000 on eligible deposits.

We've been tracking Zopa's moves for a while, and Biscuit feels like the moment their current account proposition clicks: solid rate, simple rule, real flexibility. If you already route a salary or regular income and can meet the £500/month funding, this is an easy one to put on your shortlist for "best easy-access, right now."

If you're earning significant interest from this or other savings accounts, don't forget about tax implications. Our free savings tax calculator shows you exactly what you'll keep after tax based on your income level.

As always, the base rate is variable, so it can change over time, the 1.50% bonus is the fixed bit for that first year. If you try it, tell us how you get on; we'll keep monitoring where it sits in our tables as the market shifts.
